Our worship services are joyful and include both traditional elements such as the call to worship, opening hymn, and prayer of invocation, pastoral prayer, scripture lessons, sermon, offering and benediction as well as contemporary elements such as the United Church of Christ Statement of Faith. We use the Chalice Hymnal and sing a mix of long-established favorites and newer tunes such as Brian Wren's Bring Many Names. In addition to our hand bell choir we have a "chancel" choir of approximately 15 voices.
Our Music Director, Cathy Bonnett, from time to time invites guest musicians to join us in worship.
Pastor Jim Scovil seeks to bring the teachings of Jesus Christ into contemporary life. He frequently reminds the congregation of the words spoken by Gracie Allen and used often by the United Church of Christ in its most recent national campaign: "Never place a period where God has placed a comma."
